Having Good Safe Fun With Your Wii

December 30th, 2007

We all get really excited over having a great games — and playing the Wii is some of the best fun one can have. Playing safely will ensure that having fun with the Wii will continue for the long term. Here are our favorite Wii Safety Tips.

1) Wii Space

As you move around large amounts when playing, making sure you have plenty of space is essential. Before starting your game, make sure you won’t bump anything with your arms or your legs. Be certain there isn’t anything to trip on as well. This prevents unhappy surprises especially in sports games!

2) Controlling Your Controller

As you interact using your controller, be certain you have a good grip on it and don’t let go. This may seem obvious, but having your controller fall on your foot isn’t very comfortable. This is especially important in sports games such as bowling when you may feel you have to let go of the “ball”. You really need to just press buttons not drop the controller.

3) Use Your Wii Controller Wrist Strap

To avoid having your controller fly across the room, using your wrist strap saves money. Be sure to snug the strap and use the strap lock. This prevents accidents when you get caught in the action! It is easy and helps you have more fun. If you share your remote, make sure each player takes the time to do this.

Though the Nintendo Wii is fabulous, supply is still not where it needs to be.   In New York, people wait hours outside stores when new shipments arrive.   If you are willing to pay a premium, sellers online do have the Nintendo Wii available.  Unfortunately, it costs more, but at least it can be bought.

We are hoping in a few months, they will have a greater supply as it is a wonderful game console.

About The Nintendo Wii

July 7th, 2007

If you’re thinking of purchasing a new gaming console for yourself or as a gift for a loved one, you’re probably looking for Nintendo Wii information. For those of you who just can’t seem to understand those technical specifications, you’ll appreciate the following information on Nintendo Wii for non-techies.

Nintendo Wii, pronounced as “we”, has some of the most innovative controls available on the market today. Because of this, many gamers can experience a new level of gaming by pointing, swinging, swiping and waving comfortably to control the game.  Since the Nintendo Wii is not as powerful as Xbox 360 and PS3, it was designed to focus on game-play. This means you will no longer have to read long reviews about texture and graphics information with Nintendo Wii Games.

Pros and Cons of Nintendo Wii

Just like buying other game consoles, it is important to gather Nintendo Wii information that objectively describes its pros and cons. This ensures you will be getting what you paid for. With the Wii, you can explore its innovative remote controls by playing five mini sports games bundled alongside the console. The Sports Starter Bundle for Nintendo Wii includes golf, boxing, baseball, bowling and tennis, which are all ideal in experiencing first-hand information about Nintendo Wii system controls.

A great thing about the Wii is that you can surf the internet using its Opera browser. You can just download the internet browser via Wii Channel and you can now use your console as a personal computer.  Plus, the Nintendo Wii includes wi-fi, which makes it easier for users to connect to the web almost instantly. If you grew up with classic NES games, you’ll appreciate that Wii Virtual Console allows users to purchase game points that can easily be exchanged for various retro games, such as Legend of Zelda, Mario Kart 64, Super Mario 64, Ocarina of Time and many more.

Since it includes two USB ports, you can easily plug in different gadgets and peripherals, such as webcams, mp3 players, keyboards, game pads, joysticks and other add-ons you might need. Most Nintendo Wii information focuses on its “wii-mote” controls and it is for a great reason. The console’s remote is ideal for sword fights, shooting, pointing or dancing games that needs motion sensing capabilities that only Wii can provide.

There are hundreds of reasons to choose Nintendo Wii over other game consoles. The decision is in your hands. All you need to do is gather enough information about Nintendo Wii to arrive at a wise decision.

When Did Video Games Start?

July 7th, 2007

Video games started with arcade games. One of the first games was the (now classic) pinball machine; pinball machines became very popular during the 1950’s. At this time, in the history of video games, many American servicemen were stationed in Japan. In search of entertainment for American servicemen, Japanese businesses began manufacturing more complex pinball machines. These games are often considered the precursors of today’s video games, when looking at the history of video games.
One element in the history of video games was the progression of computer technology. Without computers, today’s video games could not be played at home. Computer technology assisted in the history of video games, by creating the process to program video games. The first video games were invented during the 1960’s. These video games were not yet ready for commercialization, but the idea was beginning to be looked at.

Many of the early video games involved similar themes, such as shooting, driving or running. These games in the history of video games helped developers learn how to design more intricate games as computers became easier to use. One of the first gaming systems was sold by Magnavox. This involved several games that could be played on a television. There was a controller with three dials to control movement and an additional controller that was shaped like a rifle. The system did not sell very well, due to consumer confusion on what type of television it would need to be played on. Atari was another company that stepped up and began marketing video games. They are well known for their pong game that could be played on a television.

During the 1970’s the history of video games shows an explosion in the market. During this period, arcades began their booming business. This continued into the 1980’s and, home computers began being manufactured changing the market once again. During the 1980’s the technology advanced so quickly, that in the history of video games, this can be seen by the introduction of gaming systems for the television and handheld games.

In the 1990’s the video game industry continued creating better systems for video games. In the history of video games, this was the decade that saw the gaming systems mature and refine to a point that consumers were talking about the next system. The games are sophisticated, with quick action and amazing capabilities. Our favorite are Nintendo Wii Games.

The history of video games shows the journey that brought the gaming systems into almost every home. These systems are now an everyday part of life and the technology behind them an ever expanding business.
